Hearts broken by words unspoken.
How many times have the words on your heart been left unsaid? Did it leave you with an ache of disappointment? The regret hurts – knowing that you had your chance to speak but the words got caught on your tongue. The moment passed and then it was too late. Maybe you were left with a feeling of heaviness inside. Those words you swallowed now stuck, sitting heavy in your chest.
I’m not talking about the everyday, general conversations that we have. What I am referring to are the words that truly matter, the words that reflect who you are and shine a spotlight into your heart.
It is easy to go through life thinking that no one wants to hear what you have to say. That your words hold no value or your ideas are uninteresting. I spent quite a while debating whether I should start a blog, mainly for those reasons.
Would anyone be interested in what I have to say? Maybe. Maybe not.
Hearts open by words spoken.
I will write anyway, because it releases those words from my soul, the words that hold the most meaning. That is why the tagline under my blog logo reads ‘writing with heart’.
Maybe, just maybe, through my honesty and vulnerability, I may speak to someone else’s heart and give them the courage to voice their feelings too.
Sometimes I feel unworthy because I don’t have years and years of experience, but what I do have is a worthy story to tell. I have lived through experiences that have changed me, shaped me and made me who I am.
You have a worthy story to tell. Your words, the ones that matter most – they are worth speaking. Live authentically and with purpose. Let’s not burden ourselves with the weight of our unspoken words.
May we all find the courage to speak the words in our hearts. May we see the value in staying true to ourselves and in the honest conversations we can have with others.
